Sophie's Brewers Debut

Section 406. Row 2. Seat 16. Write it down folks. I'm a Brewers fan. I flirted with the Cubs; but it felt so artificial and out of luck. No one is truly ever a White Sock, World Series or no. So Bob Uecker now has my ear, and the seat information above is where I plopped down my bum for my first ever visit to Miller Park.

My Daddy has dreamed of a little girl to take to the ballgame on a Sunday afternoon. And even though today's game was on a Saturday, we're going again tomorrow to make it official.

Not only did I christen a new ball cap; I yelled "Go Brewers", ate a hot-dog (two of them), drank some "memonade", saw the fireworks after the 5 record-setting home runs the Brew Crew hit in the fourth inning, and sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" with the home crowd.

My sister was a little wide-eyed with all the noise and the clapping; but she'll get used to it. Maybe we'll get her a pink Brewers' hat to ease her into to the whole idea of being a true fan.

And don't worry, Spencer Uncles, I still tug on my right sleeve just like Ichiro before every teeth brushing. "That ball is Belted, deep to right field....Break out the mustard and rye bread Grandma, it's Grand Salami time!"

Four months old....

Four months old and learning to sit up....

Four months old and grabbing my own little feet...

Four months old and putting toys in my mouth...

Four months old and sooo chubby that my sister's old twelve month clothes already fit me and we wear the same size diaper...

Four months old and just as cute and happy as I can be!

He is Risen....

Easter rivals, and in many ways supercedes, Christmas. Praise God for His glorious resurrection that shackles sin and frees the slave.

Follow this link to read a wonderful recounting of Christ's blessings to those who believe.

He is Risen Indeed!

Must Love Cats

As most of you know we have a cat named Ramses. When we moved from Moscow to Chicago he went to live with my parents. Ever since Sophie has been mobile she's been interested in him. While living with my folks he could get away pretty easily and, of course, we always went home so Ramses spent most of his time in peace. Well all that changed for the poor guy when we moved here. We decided to take him with us because Sophie (and Jeremy) love him so much, but I'm quite sure by now that the feeling is NOT mutual. There is no need to be concerned about Sophie with him. He has never hurt her (though goodness knows he's taken plenty of abuse). Here is look at the treatment he's been enjoying since becoming "Sophie's"...

You have GOT to be kidding me?!

"I love you Ramses"

Just Like Sophie

Can you tell which one's which?

Sophie has been sleeping or just laying around like this since she was 4 weeks old. It took Lucy a bit longer, but she seems to be catching on to daddy's laid back attitude!

Sophie Says

One of the most hilarious things about Sophie are the things that come out of her mouth. "Kids say the darndest things" could not be more true in her case. I just thought I'd share some of the funny things she says to give you a glimpse of an evening at our dinner table or a morning in our home!

Every evening at dinner Jeremy asks Sophie questions from the shorter Catechism. Tonight when asked if she was baptized she replied, "Baptized! (insert pause for thought) It will be fun!"

Recently she has become more and more random and about a month or so ago she started running around the house yelling at the top of her lungs "BAAAAAAAAAAAAANOONLES!" We haven't determined that it has any meaning, but she gets quite a kick out of herself when she says it!

This next one is little harder to describe and I tried to take pictures of her doing it, but she wasn't very cooperative so you'll have to try to use your imagination. About a month ago, Sophie came into our bedroom with us to snuggle one morning and she
was trying to get Jeremy and I out of bed. She wasn't getting the response that she wanted so she turned to Jeremy, placed her hand under his chin and pushed it up with her hand saying "hummmbobo!" We haven't figured out what this one means yet either, but she does it to everyone! Even herself. (Lucy doesn't think it's very funny.) Sometimes, if you're lucky, she gives you a double whammy!

(This is Sophie performing her little diddy on herself.)

Sophie also keeps us in stiches with the words she comes up with for everyday things or people. On Thursday's she goes to music class at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Her teacher's name is Miss Trish and at the beginning and conclusion of each class she sings "Hello/Goodbye Sophie" and Sophie has to repeat it back to her in song. but Sophie's "t's" come out like "f's" so she sings "Hello Miss Fish".
In January we went to Seattle to visit some of Jeremy's family. When we boarded the plane Sophie stood up in her seat turned around to see who was behind her and said, "hello boys!" There they were, two boys about 12 and 10 and Sophie seemed to know exactly what she was talking about! We couldn't figure out how she already knew the difference between boys and girls. Well...last Sunday when I was carrying Sophie into church she said "hello boys" to the people behind us. I turned around and there was a group of both males and females. She thinks that "boys" mean "people".
Some other mispronunciations are truck "fruck". The only problem with this is it comes out sounding not quite like "fruck", more like...well...I'm sure you can guess that one. Another one we have to watch is kitty which she pronounces with a "t" at the beginning!

As you can see she keeps us on our toes and in stitches. I wonder what kinds of things Lucy will say...

Rollin Rollin Rollin

Remember a few weeks ago when I wrote that I do new things all the time? Well, Sunday, April 2nd, I rolled over. And not only did I go from back to tummy, but I went back again! Then today I laughed at my mommy (she really is hilarious)! Not just a little chortle, but real giggles. Mommy got so excited that I laughed even more!

Wuvin' Wucy

The only person I love to read to more is myself!
