More on Lucy's birthday

Well mommy tried to throw me a party with my friends, but neglected to remember when naptime was so it kind of flopped...but here the few picks we got anyway!
Thanks mommy! Lilly and I...

I'm showing Clive what these things are really for...

Sophie and Josephine going down the slide...

Our buddy George...

Lucy Is One

To My Girls (nod to PH)

While like a giant – proud and happy
I've taken my babes in my arms
Fragile, innocent, and alive
And like a little bird she's
Pushing against my chest
Abandoned quiet and safe
For an instant almost sweetly
My faith appears to me like a dream
And I see myself, old and surrendered,
Seated there near the coalfire
Waiting for the evening with
the anxiety of a child,
Just to see her coming back home
With the gift of her smile
Of her words and kindness
It’s like a promise that can
solve the enormous joy
Of one of her kisses.
Then I wake up and I’ve already forgotten
But inside of me the kid’s trapped
soul advises me
That this new born child is already more important to me than that of my own life…

Here we are!

I know, I know another long hiatus. We have been busy to say the least. We returned home from Moscow in October for a quick 2 weeks before returning out West for Thankgiving and Jeremy's grandparent's 50th anniversary celebration. The girls had a great time in Seattle and I believe Uncle Justin has all of those pictures so we'll have to post them later. After a week in Seattle, Jeremy returned home and the girls and I returned to Moscow and are here until after the new year! Since our last post a few exciting things have happened with our Lucy-Duce... she went from taking a few steps to walking all over the place, she has gotten three more teeth, she can sign please and more please quite well, and officially says momma and dada.
Sophie hasn't done anything new, but continues as always to be talkative and busy. Jeremy is keeping busy at home while we're all away. He even cleaned my oven for me! We miss him very much and can hardly wait to see him. So without further adieu, here are a few pictures of the girls. I promise to do a better job now that things are settled down for a bit!

Some bathtime pics...

A few fun faces...

Like my new hat?

Cowgirls and Indians

We had a great Halloween at Meemom and Grandpa Spencer's house. First we carved our pumpkins...

Oooooooh, scary!!!

Then we dressed up and went trick-or-treating.

We went to a few neighbors and friends houses, but it was soooo cold so we went to the mall and got candy from each store. It was the best trip to the mall we've ever been on!

I'm a Coug!

Right on the Kisser!

Sophie went to give her a kiss and Lucy turned at just the right time!

Fun at the Park

The park is fun no matter where we go!

I'm pooped!

Getting into Mischief

As soon as I discovered this bookshelf I dug right in. There really is nothing like a good book!

Here mom, you read this one.

An update at last...

Our sincerest apologies to all our faithful blog viewers for our long absense of new pictures. Here is what we are up to...

Mommy, Sophie amd Lucy have spent the last 3 weeks visiting family and friends in Moscow, Id. Sophie had found lots of things to busy herself as you can see...

She has been very interested in stickers recently and does more than just stick them. Here she is making Cinderella dance around the table.

She had lots of fun when she discovered her uncle Jackson's swords. Just trying to fit in with the boys!

The mess is the best part...

In June mommy decided it was time to start me going on this whole solid food thing. I took one look at that nasty stuff and decided it wasn't for me. She dropped for a little while, then last month she tried again and this time she didn't give up. So I finally surrendered. I wouldn't really say that I particularly enjoy any of it yet, but I do love sitting up at the table with everyone and holding my own cup, and I love to blow raspberries back at mommy right after she gives me a spoonful. I really think mommy looks good splattered with squash!
